Property Description
The Oxford Building has been extensively refurbished, while maintaining its original shop fronts, facade, ceilings, grand entrance and cage lift. It was designed for D C Turnball by architectural firm Turnball and Rule and built by A Kennedy. No expense was spared in the design and fit out.
The Oxford building was originally planned as a three-level building but was completed at four. The Turnballs owned the building until 1977.
The Oxford Building is the third to stand on this prominent corner site after an 1860s fire.
The building is now home to the award winning Oxford restaurant located on the ground floor as well as the award winning Shine (a day spa) and Steve Evans design of a manufacturing jeweller with an apartment office and sea views located on the upper floors.
